Social Distancing and Covid-19

Updated: Apr 20, 2020

For most of us, one of the hardest things about the measures we're having to take to contain the spread of Covid-19 is social distancing.

Welcome to our blog post. We use this space to connect with our readers and potential customers in a way that’s current and interesting. Think of it as an ongoing conversation where we can share updates about business, trends, news, and more.

Human beings are social creatures. Massage therapist thrive on connections and physical connections through touch. While we can't do much about the physical distance this virus has put on us all, there ARE things we can do to maintain our emotional connections.

REACH OUT TO PEOPLE VIRTUALLY

At least this has happened now, rather than in a time when we weren't as virtually connected. We have so many options at our fingertips. We can use Face-time, Skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts, and Whats app to help us virtually connect. Don't forget a good old phone call, email, or text are other great ways to give and receive support during this time.

KIDS WILL ACT UP- GIVE THEM A BREAK

Kids also need to talk to each other and stay in touch with their friends, so try and organize virtual play dates and give older kids some freedom to chat with school buddies. Time seems to go a lot slower when you are younger with no social interaction. Teens may especially get lonely. It is not just adults struggling with whats happening. Children who are use to a regular routine may feel shaken up by the changes to their day. By creating a routine and keeping them informed, you can make them feel secure and safe by knowing whats happening.
